A person's feelings of health have a powerful affect on their quality of life and how they interact with the world. Embracing this truth, the Somatic Systems Corporation (Tokyo, Japan) was founded to create and support healthy, vibrant individuals who will in turn be a positive influence on those around them.

We take a multi-faceted integrated approach in our efforts to raise people to their highest potential, impacting active lifestyles locally and globally through a blend of personal interaction and corporate projects.

TRAVIS B. JOHNSON Ph.D., EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Travis began training athletes in 1994 when he secured employment at the prestigious Minakami Karate Dojo (Hayashi-ha Shitoryu-kai) in Seattle, USA. The position afforded him the opportunity to coach and interact with many skilled national and international competitors, plus acquire valuable experience in the managerial operations of schools and fitness facilities. Soon after relocating to Japan in 2000 for graduate study at the University of Tokyo, chronic injury forced Travis to minimize his athletic endeavors. His extended rehabilitation made him seriously question the validity of traditional/historical training protocols and propelled him into extensive study of human movement science. He went on to take advanced specializations in Corrective Exercise and Performance Enhancement from the National Academy of Sports Medicine in the USA. Travis' results-oriented, highly scientific approach to health and fitness has garnered him praise from both clients and colleagues alike.
